The former Savior kingвЂ™s redemption arc is in full swing, though it may take some convincing still for the others. NeganвЂ™s soft spot is definitely children. TheyвЂ™re brave and humane and they donвЂ™t kill kids. He tells Daryl why he admires their group. And he did end up on the right side again. After seven years of being locked away in a prison cell, just being out doing stuff was a nice change. Daryl had accused Negan of liking his time with the Whisperers, and Negan admits that he did. Daryl leaps to his feet and the two of them make short work of the remaining Whisperers. Negan raises the shotgun and shoots its former owner. He takes the double-barreled shotgun from the chief Whisperer and goes on a little Negan monologue. Negan chortles and has the Whisperers force Daryl to his knees. Killing her was the one way to take over as the new Alpha. The Whisperers donвЂ™t want revenge on their leaderвЂ™s killer. IвЂ™d forgotten until just then that this was the way of things. вЂњAlpha is dead because of you!вЂќ one says. At this point, Beta has already made off with AlphaвЂ™s noggin, cradling it like a baby in his massive arms. TheyвЂ™re waylaid by Whisperers when they come to the pikes where Carol had left AlphaвЂ™s head. Now Daryl discovers that she let Negan go without telling even him. Carol placed all their lives in danger more than once. How many times this season alone has Carol screwed him over? Connie is still missing, possibly dead. Honestly, at this point IвЂ™m not sure how things get back to good between the two of them. Carol, once again, working behind his back, not letting him in on her plans. He explains that Carol freed him and that heвЂ™s been working with her this entire time, and Daryl knows itвЂ™s true despite his distaste for Negan. He takes Negan prisoner though Negan soon has him questioning himself. Next thing he knows, Daryl is there, armed and dangerous. First thing first, he heads over to the shack where he left Lydia, starting to apologize to her as he opens the door, only to see that sheвЂ™s escaped. Negan heads off on his own, unsure what to do now that Carol has left him in the lurch. I suppose this means sheвЂ™ll head back to Alexandria next week? Negan and Daryl

Carol just barely manages to free herself before the walker gets to her, and only just manages to kill it before it bites. Fake Alpha taunts her as she lays there and soon a walker approaches. I guess itвЂ™s in character at this point, but I still find it irritating.ДЄpparently Carol is also still having major hallucinations, because the ghost of Alpha haunts her the entire way, sowing doubt in her mind, mocking her, asking her question every decision sheвЂ™s ever made, bringing up the litany of dead children that lay in her terrible wake, from Sophia to Lizzie to Henry and more.Д®ventually she comes to an old shack which collapses on her, pinning her to the ground. Always the fear that sheвЂ™ll be rejected after she does something thatвЂ™s pigheaded or rash, alienating her friends and companions in the process. So Carol goes off on her own again, something sheвЂ™s been doing over and over and over again for years now.
